Coffee and chocolate added to scientists 'list of major life-prolonging foods

Professor Williamson of the Department of Food Science at the University of Leeds in the UK has made a list of 20 major foods for prolonging life, including chocolate, coffee and tea, which are important foods and drinks for longevity and maintaining a healthy life, Hong Kong's Oriental Daily reported. All the foods on the list contain natural polyphenols and have a variety of health benefits, including the prevention of heart disease.
Williamson points out that the foods on the list, mainly fruits and vegetables, can also slow the aging of the body by protecting cells that will be naturally damaged with age. There is growing evidence that diets are rich in polyphenols, such as tannins, lignins and flavonoids, which help improve people's chances of living to a genetic maximum.

Daily study: women who drink coffee are less likely to develop uterine cancer
Women who drink coffee regularly have a lower risk of uterine cancer, according to a new study in Japan. The researchers found that women who drank more than three cups of coffee a day were 60% less likely to develop uterine cancer than those who drank less than twice a week. Coffee may play a role in lowering insulin levels, lowering blood sugar levels and regulating hormonal activity in women, thus reducing the number of children affected, the team said.
