How long will it take for coffee to be refreshing?

Researchers at the University of Barcelona in Spain recently found that it takes only 10 minutes for coffee to be refreshing. The maximum amount of caffeine entering the bloodstream is 45 minutes, but it takes only a few minutes to reach half of the maximum.
It is reported that men are more sober than women after drinking espresso. They analyzed 688 college students and measured them before and after drinking coffee for 10, 20 and 30 minutes. They also found that volunteers became awake after drinking decaffeinated coffee, but to a small extent. Decaffeinated coffee has a more obvious effect on women than men.
The researchers say the effects of caffeine can last for two to three hours, and some can last as long as four or five hours, depending on individual sensitivity and metabolic rate.
