Coffee, before drinking drops fragrant, after drinking it is bad breath. A new study by Israeli scientists found that coffee contains substances that inhibit bad breath and may be used in mouthwashes, breath fresheners and chewing gum in the future.
Professor Mel Rosenberg, a breath expert at Tel Aviv University in Israel, accidentally discovered this magical effect of coffee in experiments.
Rosenberg and his colleagues placed two types of Israeli coffee and one type of Nestle instant coffee in glass tubes filled with saliva, hoping to prove that coffee mixed with saliva produced odorous gases. The result was unexpected. They found that coffee prevented the production of the gas, reducing it by up to 90 percent in some experiments.
