Coffee contains a variety of healthy ingredients that can help the body fight drowsiness, colds, asthma and edema, as well as a variety of cancers, heart disease, Parkinson's disease and so on. Drinking several cups of coffee a day can prevent the deterioration of hepatitis C and related liver diseases, a new study has found.
Neil Friedman of the National Cancer Institute led the study. He conducted a questionnaire survey of 766 hepatitis C patients who had never received formal treatment, asking patients how often and how much coffee and tea they drank. Among them, the frequency is divided into "never drinking" and "daily drinking", while daily drinkers need to answer the amount of drinking.
The results showed that patients with hepatitis C who drank three or more cups of coffee a day were 53% less likely to get worse than those who did not drink coffee. However, the researchers found no correlation between tea drinking and the progression of hepatitis C.
