The photography theme related to the coffee cup is Cuppaday.
According to the Daily Mail, for most of us, coffee cups have limited uses, but they are used for brewing coffee and the like. But one designer turned his addiction to caffeine into creativity, turning this everyday must-do into art.
South African artist Paul Garbett, now based in Sydney, recreates each cup into the heart of a three-dimensional model using paintings and small ornaments.
In a series called Cuppady, cups alternate between miniature skateparks, totem poles and even greedy green monsters.

Garbett has also given some of the cups a vivid personality, such as this kindly ghost covered in kitchen tissues and blinking eyes, and a snowman wrapped in a tape scarf and holding up a branch arm.

Other works incorporate elements of famous artists, such as Yayoi Kusama's iconic polka dots and Mondrian's cubist painting style.
