Development trend of Native Coffee varieties in China
The first is the lack of introduction channels. After all, we are in the most poor and backward areas in China, with inconvenient transportation and little communication with foreign coffee growing areas. Besides working in our own growing areas, there is a trend in the development of coffee outside. I don't have a chance to go out and have a look, and almost all the foreign merchants we can contact are traders. The second part is that the person in charge of the coffee shop who has been growing coffee for more than ten years firmly opposes the change of varieties and tells me with his veteran that they have planted pure Arabica in the past (I know they have come into contact with very few varieties), and the rust is so serious that it does not adapt to our environment at all, so tell me not to bother in vain. Third, some of our leaders are against it, because they are worried that foreigners will actually come to our backward border areas to make money by selling varieties under the pretext of introducing improved varieties (because we have experienced foreigners selling genetically modified varieties and can plant a generation. After the second generation, you can't plant it).
Of course, another part of coffee plantation owners are good at studying and summarizing, facing the problem of accelerated aging and declining disease resistance of traditional varieties, they are very worried, support me, and ask for the introduction of new varieties through various channels as soon as possible to ensure the healthy development of the coffee industry. There are also some newly entered coffee growers who like the charm of foreign pure Arabica species and also require the introduction of foreign pure Arabica species as soon as possible to improve the quality of coffee.
In the face of several different attitudes, as a leader in charge of coffee in China's local coffee growing area, I know that I have a great responsibility and am very anxious. I also want to improve the quality of our local coffee as soon as possible.
Of course, on a very responsible basis and on the premise of protecting the interests of 100000 existing coffee growers, I will strengthen my ties with foreign coffee companies and gradually try to grow and promote some foreign coffee varieties.
Last year, with the participation and help of individual foreign coffee companies, some pure Arabica seedlings were trial-bred in different places in Yunnan. Among them: in the breeding situation of Pu'er, I used the rest time on Sunday to drive myself to the mountains 160 kilometers away to watch the growth of coffee seedlings. As expected, coffee seedlings are growing very well. Although it is not time to announce it, I thought about it and took it out to share it with my friends to satisfy everyone's curiosity. Because, this may be a new trend of Chinese native coffee in the future.
1. Nursery land: 1048 m and 900m above sea level
Second, varieties: four pure Arabica species, such as catura and catuai, are growing very well.
Third, planting: it is expected to give priority to trial planting in some bases in June this year.
