Yunnan will build the country's largest coffee bean finishing production base
A few days ago, I learned from the "Symposium on the Development of China's Baoshan Coffee Industry" held by the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Baoshan City that Yunnan Province has become the largest coffee bean production and export base in the country, and the next goal is to build the world's high-quality coffee bean raw material export base, the country's largest finishing production base and trade center.
According to reports, by the end of 2009, the coffee planting area in Yunnan Province had reached 450000 mu, with an annual production of about 40, 000 tons of coffee beans, accounting for 99.3% and 98.8% of the country's total output value of 7.02 billion yuan, forming the three major coffee bean producing areas of Baoshan, Dehong and Pu'er. However, there are still some problems in Yunnan coffee industry, such as weak infrastructure of planting base, low comprehensive production capacity, "small scattered and weak" processing enterprises and so on. In this regard, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Agricultural Department have jointly formulated the Yunnan Coffee Industry Development Plan (2010-2020). It is planned that by 2015, the province's coffee planting area will reach 1 million mu, with an annual output of 96000 tons of coffee beans, with a total output value of more than 17 billion yuan. By 2020, the planting area will reach 1.5 million mu, and the annual output and industrial output value of coffee beans will double on the basis of 2015.
It is understood that Yunnan Province will focus on building a coffee deep processing industry park in Kunming's high-tech development zone, and speed up the construction of an international trading center and logistics center for Kunming characteristic agricultural and forestry products, mainly coffee trading, and strive to cultivate one or two listed companies in the coffee industry during the 12th five-year Plan period, and set up a Yunnan Coffee Engineering and Technology Research Center. In addition, Yunnan Province will set up a coffee industry development leading group to support the provincial coffee industry association to register the regional trademark of "Yunnan Coffee" and take the lead in the establishment of the "China National Coffee Industry Association" and the China Coffee Trade Import and Export Organization.
