The coffee tree species (arabica species) originated from the Abyssinia Plateau in Africa, which is now the Ethiopian Plateau. Formerly famous for its gold mines, Abyssinia was occupied by Yemen in the Middle East in the 6th century, so the cultivation of coffee spread from Yemen to other parts of the tropics.
Coffee is drunk as a drink thanks to the hands of Arabs, to the 15th-16th century, the cultivation of Yemeni coffee has been very advanced, and produced considerable economic benefits, so the Yemeni government issued a ban to stop the circulation of coffee; however, with the increase of Islamists who toured Mecca at that time, coffee trees spread and planted to the present scale in the 18th century.
