Last Updated: 2024/09/20, Cameroon's coffee harvest year of 2013 and 2014 was officially launched on the 24th of the year in Melong, Moungo, in the Karabinhai region.

According to the statistics of the Coco and Coffee National Office (ONCC), by the end of the coffee harvest year 2012 / 2013, the production of coffee beans in Robusta has dropped significantly, while that of Arabica has stagnated. The total commercial production of coffee in the country has reached 16142 tons, a decrease of 21985 tons compared with the 38127 tons of coffee harvested in the previous adult.

In terms of coffee price, during the adult period of coffee harvest in 2012, the highest price of Robusta coffee beans was 1045 CFA / kg, the lowest price was 725 CFA / kg, with an average price of 907 CFA / kg; the highest price of Arabica coffee beans was 1758 CFA / kg, the lowest price was 1139 CFA / kg, and the average price was 1405 CFA / kg, which was lower than the average price of coffee in the previous coffee harvest year (2043 CFA / kg).

In terms of coffee exports, during the adult period of coffee harvest in 2012, Robusta coffee beans exported 14724 tons, down 19347 tons from the same period last year, and the relative value decreased by 56.78 percent, mainly to 19 countries and regions; Arabica coffee beans exported 2523 tons, an increase of 13 tons over the same period last year, mainly exported to 12 countries and regions.

According to the Bank of Central African countries (BEAC), coffee production in Cameroon will continue to decline, partly because the coffee industry is becoming less and less attractive to young people, and because lack of investment has led coffee growers to switch to other cash crops with short production cycles and high returns.
