Gu Lin Fang, which sounds like a name with ancient Chinese style, actually comes from English GREEN HOUSE. In Pu'er, although this store is not famous, it also attracts a lot of attention. There are often a group of blond foreigners in and out of it. More interestingly, it is not only a coffee shop, it also has a very special name-coffee laboratory.

According to Martin, director of Gulin Fang, Gu Lin Fang was established in Xining, Qinghai Province in 2008. Some of its founders are from the United States and some from Mexico, all of whom are professionals in the coffee industry. There is a popular idea in the world boutique coffee industry: to be with farmers and change their lives. The Gulinfang team agrees with this concept very much and has been looking for opportunities to cooperate with the origin of coffee around the world since its inception. After several years of experience, Gulinfang chose to settle in Pu'er, the largest coffee origin in China. Gulinfang Yunnan Coffee Laboratory is now the only organization in southwest China recognized by the European and American Fine Coffee Association to hold coffee appraiser training.

"one of the ideas of making boutique coffee is to affect the entire supply chain of coffee and improve the quality of life of farmers and the quality of coffee itself," Martin said. We find that in China, where we are, there is already a place of origin. In order to really understand the life of curry farmers and train them to grow with higher quality and higher and more reasonable remuneration, we must really move here. We can't just say it in distant places. We have to really do it. "

In the autumn of 2014, Martin came to Pu'er for the first time with the instructions of his team. he found that the people here were very friendly and easy to get in touch with. He successively visited Pu'er Coffee Association, Nestl é, Starbucks and other institutions and enterprises, and also went to several small coffee farms. He found that from large to small, both the government and private enterprises attach great importance to how to make good Chinese coffee enter the world's boutique coffee market, and everyone is willing to learn, hoping to share China's good things with the world. Seeing this situation, Martin feels that Gulinfang can become a bridge between Pu'er and the world.

Gu Lin Fang officially settled in Pu'er in 2015. Martin was a little surprised and pleased that the clean small city of Pu'er was different from other places. There was no fierce competition from big cities, and the coffee makers were very United. They are all working hard for the same goal, that is, to make Pu'er coffee better.

Martin firmly believes that a person's success is the success of Pu'er, the success of Pu'er is the success of Yunnan, and the success of Yunnan is the success of China. Everyone has a very clear goal and is willing to help each other. I am very willing to share the good knowledge and good channels I have acquired. This is the environment I would like to stay in. If we are all willing to share what we have, I believe that in five to ten years, an indispensable ingredient in the world boutique coffee industry will be Chinese boutique coffee.

It was with this idea that Gulinfang Yunnan Coffee Laboratory held several coffee tasting training courses soon after its opening. The Arabica and Robusta coffee tasting courses held in February, July and September this year not only attracted local coffee people, but also attracted coffee industry insiders from many countries and regions such as the United States, India, Malaysia and South Korea to Pu'er. While participating in international training, we also gained a deeper understanding of Pu'er and put forward valuable suggestions for the development of Pu'er coffee.

Martin believes that compared with the neighboring Southeast Asian countries that produce coffee, the open attitude of the government and good infrastructure construction are both the biggest advantages of China and Yunnan. The coffee enterprises in Pu'er attach great importance to learning the international advanced coffee production and processing technology, and many operators come to Gulinfang to receive training and apply what they have learned to the links of coffee planting, management, harvesting, storage, and so on, so as to continuously improve the quality of coffee, from simple pursuit in the past to more weight and quality now. Gulin Square really implanted the concept of world boutique coffee into the hearts of Pu'er coffee people.

In the future, Gulinfang will continue to hold training courses in China and other Southeast Asian countries to connect these coffee-growing areas to form an industry communication platform so that everyone can fully share information and jointly create a bright future for boutique coffee in Asia.
