Not only coffee can be made into capsules, Nestl é also sells capsule milk powder in China.
In addition to developing a capsule coffee machine for drinking coffee, food giant Nestl é has also launched a baby capsule milk powder machine that makes it easy for parents to make milk powder.
In March this year, the BabyNes intelligent nutrition system produced by Wyeth, a subsidiary of Nestl é, officially launched in China. According to Wyeth, in addition to milk powder, this product also includes a specially designed one-button intelligent punching conditioner, which can automatically identify the bar code on the capsule, match the amount of water required for each capsule, and ensure that the milk is thicker and lighter. At the same time, it can also provide a suitable drinking temperature of 25 to 40 degrees according to the baby's preference. If the temperature is too high or meets a fake, the machine will lock automatically.
The product was launched in Switzerland in 2011 and launched in France the following year, and it took Wyeth a total of eight years to develop. Although this way of making milk powder is very interesting, Wyeth said that matching the milk powder launched by this milk powder machine is the focus of innovation.
Wyeth BabyNes provides formula for infants aged 1 to 3 years. There are six consecutive stages: the first year is divided into four stages, and in the following two years, one phase per year. Wyeth says such fine segments can meet the nutritional needs of babies of different ages.
The milk powder, which looks like Nestl é's capsule coffee, uses a separate sealed package with a built-in filter. When in use, the machine punctures the capsule and water passes through the filter into the bottom part of the milk powder. In Wyeth's view, such packaging can reduce the loss of nutritional oxidation caused by frequent contact with air and avoid milk pollution caused by contact with milk powder with both hands.
With the entire milk powder and powder machine, Wyeth also offers its own app, which allows consumers to track their baby's milk remotely, Wyeth said. If parents are worried about whether someone has already washed their child's milk at work, the APP can tell you.
Wyeth has set up special Tmall flagship stores for this product, which will be opened offline, mainly in high-end maternal and baby stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, as well as some high-end supermarkets, such as Ole in Shanghai Jing'an Kerry Center, BHG in Beijing, as well as representative mother-and-child chain brands in Shanghai and Beijing.
BabyNes's Daniel Blarer said that for Wyeth, the most important thing now is to promote this kind of feeding method in the Chinese market for the first time. Seeing and touching such machines can better promote the product. At the same time, the online channel is to facilitate more consumers to buy and continue to buy.
This entry into China is also the first time that BabyNes has been listed on a market outside Europe. Chinese consumers are used to mixing milk powder in large bottles, and for Wyeth, there is also a job in the education market. But Wyeth seems confident. Daniel Blarer says Asian markets have always been receptive to emerging things, and with the increase in the number of young parents in China, these only-child parents want to give their children the best products, with more emphasis on product quality and more comparisons.
Capsule coffee currently generates about $4.5 billion in annual sales for Nestl é, compared with $13.1 billion for nutrition products in 2014, and Nestl é seems to want to replicate that success on capsule milk powder. At present, in the Chinese market, the price of capsule milk powder machine is 2188 yuan, and the price of 26 pieces of milk powder is about 500 yuan.
