On November 18, at the Dehong branch of the World Coffee Science Congress, the first Asian Coffee Annual meeting was held and permanently settled in Dehong.

The "Asian Coffee Annual meeting", formerly known as the China Mangshi (International) Coffee Culture Festival, is held once a year and has been held for five times. At the Fifth China Mangshi (International) Coffee Culture Festival in 2015, it was decided by the members of the China-ASEAN Coffee Professional Cooperation Committee that the China Mangshi (International) Coffee Culture Festival was upgraded to the Asian Coffee Annual meeting in 2016. Dehong City, which has the largest coffee industrial park in Asia, has become the permanent venue of the Asian Coffee Annual Conference.

During the annual meeting, in addition to holding the academic forum of the World Coffee Science Congress, coffee practitioners from all over the world also visited the largest coffee processing plant in China and the construction site of a 2000-ton plant. Learn about the original coffee bean production process-- kiss the first coffee processing process, and have close contact with coffee in the coffee forest. The whole conference is rich in content and various forms, mainly to display Yunnan coffee culture, which can be said to be a "trip to Yunnan coffee culture".

In Yunnan, all strict standards for coffee cultivation have been met, and the coffee produced in Yunnan is famous for its unique quality of "strong but not bitter, fragrant but not strong, and slightly sour". At the beginning of 2016, coffee was planted in 35 counties in 9 prefectures, including Pu'er, Baoshan, Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Lincang, Wenshan Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture and Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, with a planting area of 1.77 million mu and a total output of 139000 tons, accounting for more than 99% of the country's total output and about 1% of the global total output.

He Duan Qi, vice governor of Yunnan Province, said at the opening ceremony of the 26th World Coffee Science Congress that Yunnan is one of the earliest provinces in China to grow coffee, and has formed a complete industrial chain from planting, processing, consumption to marketing. Coffee industry has become one of the most plateau industries in Yunnan.

Since Nestl é, Starbucks, Maxwell and other companies started the history of purchasing coffee raw materials in Yunnan, coffee cultivation in Yunnan has entered the stage of transformation from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, the expansion of international trade and the exploration of domestic potential market in parallel. In March this year, Nestl é launched Yunnan limited edition capsule coffee globally, printing "YUNNAN ESPRESSO" on the capsule coffee logo. This indicates that Yunnan coffee has been recognized by the world, and its quality is enough to participate in the market competition of the world coffee industry.
