At the first Asian Coffee Annual meeting, more than 500 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from home and abroad exchanged widely, reached consensus and issued a joint declaration. According to the declaration, the purpose of the annual meeting is to strengthen coordination and cooperation among Asian countries in the coffee industry, to enhance the voice of Asian coffee in the international market, to exchange innovative scientific and technological knowledge of coffee, and to establish a knowledge base for science and use. coordinate the development of the Asian coffee industry chain and seek a balance of common interests for coffee producers, traders, processors and consumers. The participants agreed that Mangshi, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, should be the permanent host of the Asian Coffee Annual meeting; proposed the establishment of the Asian Coffee Association, whose office would be located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China; and suggested the construction of a complete Asian coffee market system.

Dehong is located in the southwest of China's Yunnan Province, bordering Myanmar, is a plateau area inhabited by ethnic minorities. The best coffee producing area in China is Yunnan, which accounts for more than 99% of China's coffee planting area and output, and Dehong is one of the main coffee growing and producing areas in Yunnan.
