New Coffee Project in Colombia-Iraqi Project
In Colombia, a country with a long history of coffee cultivation, a new coffee culture has emerged. The Women's Coffee planting Program allows women to manage farms through their own knowledge, thus improving their quality of life. This collaborative project transforms a woman's identity from a mother and wife to a successful and confident leader.
Change their lives with coffee beans
The project began to provide women with tools to grow and manage their farms and improve the quality of coffee. Provide training to women on the identification of mature coffee berries and the classification of coffee beans during harvest. Cooperatives and farmers also help them fertilize the land to improve the quality of coffee beans.
In addition, they need to learn how to manage their own coffee business and demonstrate their growing management skills by learning how to improve their organizational effectiveness, farm waste disposal, how to save water, and how to improve the farm environment. Through training in coffee harvesting, fermentation, drying and business management, they have obtained higher sales prices and shared their coffee beans with the world.
Create a passion for coffee and start a new way of life.
Today, more than 300 women have participated in the Iraqi coffee project, and the cooperative hopes that the number of participants will break through the 700 mark. The coffee comes from 46 female growers in the project.
The project not only helps women start their own coffee business, but also changes their own lives and the lifestyle of their families. Give women the opportunity to play new roles in their lives and learn different life skills, such as "how to save and manage money and develop leadership." they experienced the self-identity, better lifestyle and new opportunities gained from the project.
