Drinking coffee regularly is good for lowering blood pressure.
Researchers in Switzerland examined 16000 people's blood pressure, coffee drinking habits and an enzyme in their bodies and found a link between them. The study is published in the journal Human Molecular Genetics. The researchers found that an enzyme called CYP1A2 plays a decisive role in breaking down caffeine in the liver. People who are active in this enzyme often drink coffee, and their blood pressure is generally lower than those who are less active.
