There is no American coffee in the United States and there is no Viennese coffee in Vienna. In fact, "Americano" is not American coffee in the real sense, but the Italians use espresso as the base and dilute it with hot water to make a kind of coffee with a light taste. Italians call it American coffee, but it also implies that Americans are not particular about drinking coffee.

The real American coffee is actually drip-filtered coffee, which is coffee in an American household electric filter pot, and Americans simply call it "Coffee". So we can understand why there is no Viennese coffee in Vienna. In Vienna, the coffee with fresh cream on the surface is called einsp ä nner, while the coffee with cream on the plain coffee is called melange.

Italy style

Espresso is the mother of espresso because all espresso is based on espresso. It is an extremely strong drink, energetic and unhypocritical, and some people call it "Kung Fu Coffee"! Why do you call it Kung Fu Coffee? Because a good cup of espresso needs to pass through 15 bar (Bar) of high pressure, let water vapor flow quickly through the compacted coffee powder, extract a fine sand-like powder to extract an essential coffee liquid, the time can not exceed 30 seconds, the temperature can not exceed 90 degrees Celsius, the manual power of pressing powder should be at least more than 20 kilograms, and the coffee oil should be three centimeters thick. So it takes some work to get a good cup of espresso!

Espresso is usually measured in "shot" units. 1 shot is usually named "Single Espresso" or "Solo Espresso" in the menu is the basic type of espresso, is also the most popular coffee in Europe, the quantity is very small, usually drink up one or two mouthfuls, and leave.

2 shot commonly known as "Double Espresso", that is, double espresso, in Italy, people call it "Doppio". There is still a difference between Double Espresso and Doppio. Double Espresso is the amount of double Single Espresso added together. In Italy, ordering a cup of Double Espresso will also result in a double dose of Single Espresso;, but if you order Doppio, please note, you will get a cup of coffee with the same amount as Single Espresso but twice as much coffee powder as Single Espresso, that is, twice the concentration of regular espresso, with a stronger flavor.

"Ristretto" is the strongest of all espresso, is ultra-high concentration of espresso. It is an espresso made in the form of a short shot with the amount of coffee powder of double espresso and 50% water. What is a short run? It usually takes 25 to 30 seconds to extract a cup of Single Espresso, while Ristretto only retains the first half, that is, 15 to 20 seconds, and the amount of water is naturally less than half that of Single Espresso.

If there is a short impulse, there should also be a "long impulse", and "Lungo" is made by using a long impulse. Lungo means "long" in Italian. Lungo uses twice as much water as Single Espresso, and the extraction time is extended to about one minute. Regular espresso takes 25 to 30 seconds to extract 25 to 30 milliliters, while lungo needs about one to extract, and the amount of liquid extracted is about 50 to 60 milliliters.

"Don't try espresso easily, be careful that it captivates your soul!" That's what some people say about espresso. Indeed, espresso is an unstoppable drink once tasted. I believe many people will order lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, caramel macchiato and other drinks when they enter the cafe, but many people don't know the difference between them, so let's look through the Italian Coffee genealogy.

[Con Panna: espresso with a hat]

Formula: espresso 2 oz  whipped cream 4 oz

Add the right amount of whipped cream to the Italian espresso to easily finish a cup of Campbell blue. The white whipped cream floats gently on the dark coffee, just like a white lotus flower that comes out of the mud and is not dyed.

[Macchiatto: a small cappuccino]

Formula: espresso 2 oz  a small amount of milk foam

Macchiato means "imprint" in Italian. As the name implies, its taste can leave sweet memories to the taste buds just like the name. Macchiato is more feminine and looks like a miniature version of a cappuccino. Macchiato's weight is 1/3 of that of cappuccino, and macchiato is espresso with a layer of milk foam and no milk. when drinking, the taste of espresso will not be diluted, and the smell of milk only stops on your lips.

This kind of coffee is the most popular espresso today. Many young cafes like to use this coffee to change styles, such as caramel macchiato, but in fact, it has been silently increased several times, and the taste has been lightened a lot. It's just that the beautiful name is still used.

[caramel Caramel Macchiato: sweet imprint]

Formula: espresso 2 oz  hot milk 4 oz  syrup 4 oz  caramel

Caramel macchiato has a reputation of "sweet imprint", vanilla syrup and smooth hot milk, smooth milk foam on the surface, mellow espresso mixed with soft caramel sauce, sweet and mellow macchiato has become a favorite coffee for women in the city.

[Cappuccino: doubly affectionate]

Formula: espresso 2oz + steamed milk 2oz + foam 2oz

A cappuccino is made by mixing the same amount of espresso and steamed milk. At this time, the color of coffee is like a cappuccino monk wearing a turban over a dark brown coat, hence the name. The traditional cappuccino is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk and 1/3 foamed milk and sprinkled with small particles of cinnamon powder.

The traditional pattern of cappuccino is a heart, which is not as rich as a latte because there is less milk, hence the name "Love is Cappuccino."
