Daughter Ye, a native of Pingyang, began to work in WeChat business in 2014. At first, she mainly sold masks, mascara and other products, and made a lot of money. In April last year, when she was browsing Weibo, she saw an advertisement for "LEPTIN COFFEE" slimming coffee. The Weibo post said the product can lose weight quickly, without side effects and without rebound. Ye thought it was a business opportunity, so he joined a WeChat group according to the contact information provided on Weibo and bought goods from a member of the group named Wan Songyi. Subsequently, she posted an advertisement for this slimming coffee on her moments, and as a result, many people placed orders to buy it. Because she was too busy alone, she asked her mother to help deliver the goods.

But paper can not contain fire, in December of the same year, someone reported to the police that Ye sold slimming coffee is a toxic, harmful food. After receiving the alarm, the police immediately searched Ye's home and seized 36 boxes of "LEPTIN COFFEE" brand slimming coffee on the spot. Ye and Ying were also taken away by the police for investigation.

In court, Ye admitted that this slimming coffee did not have any proof such as a certificate of quality. at that time, her purchase price ranged from 150 yuan to 170 yuan, which was generally sold at 280 yuan, with a maximum price of 328 yuan. "I bought a total of 800 boxes. This product has side effects such as insomnia, sweating and thirst. It will definitely be good for your health after drinking it, but I don't know what's wrong with it."

Later, after testing, the police seized the "Leptin Coffee" brand slimming coffee containing "sibutramine", "phenolphthalein" ingredients, these ingredients are illegally added non-edible substances.

After the trial, the court held that the defendant Ye and Ying continued to sell this slimming coffee to others, knowing that this slimming coffee was mixed with toxic and harmful non-food raw materials, and that their behavior constituted the crime of selling toxic and harmful food. However, in view of the fact that the two defendants were able to truthfully confess their crimes after they were brought to justice, and Ye voluntarily withdrew 30,000 yuan from the illegal proceeds, the court imposed a lighter punishment in accordance with the law, and a suspended sentence should be applied to a certain accomplice. As a result, Ye was finally sentenced to 10 months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Ying was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for one year, and fined 10,000 yuan. During the probation period, Ye was not allowed to engage in activities related to food production and sales.

In October 2010, the State Food and Drug Administration banned the production and sale of all preparations and APIs of sibutramine in China. Sibutramine is a kind of central nervous system inhibitor, which has the effects of excitement and food inhibition, which may cause serious side effects such as elevated blood pressure, accelerated heart rate, anorexia, insomnia, abnormal liver function and so on.
