Looking back on the rise of literary thought in Europe, it was the time when cafes fermented. More than a hundred years ago, unknown writers, playwrights, painters, social reformers, and art lovers gathered in cafes to talk. They even write such an atmosphere in their works, or present their works to the customers of the cafe. In 1899, when Pablo Picasso was 17 years old, he began to frequently enter and leave the four Cats (Els Quatre Gats) Cafe in Barcelona, Spain, where he held his first solo exhibition. Picasso also drew a poster for the cafe as a menu cover.

The four Cat Cafe is favored by many art lovers, such as painter, poet Santiago Rusiol, sculptor Julio Gonz á lez, composer Isaac Alb é niz, architect Antoni Gaud í, and so on. Their bohemian artistic spirit can be seen in the cafes still operating today.

Picasso settled in the artist-congregated Montparnasse district during his development in Paris, France. He and a group of friends continued to chat in the cafe and talk about what they had in mind. At that time, there were four cafes most talked about: Le D?me, where former artists could enjoy turquoise sausages and a plate of potatoes for one franc, but today it is a top seafood restaurant; La Coupole, full of new art decorations, partly created by Constantin Brancu?i and Henri Matisse As for the round pavilion (La Rotonde), it presents the beautiful atmosphere of the old days with red bench sofas and tassel lights, while Le Select also has a wall made of new art decoration lamps and mirrors.

Picasso leaves traces of stopping in different cafes, whether it is paintings or exhibitions, you can see food and his artistic creation.
