Brazilian Cup of excellent Coffee

Huang bourbon, an experimental coffee from Brazil, won the record for any coffee sold during the "excellent Cup" green coffee auction at a price of $126.10 per pound.

The Fazenda Bom Jardim of Gabriel Alves Nunes in the Cerrado Mineiro area surpassed the previous coffee record of $124.5 set at auction in Honduras.

The CoE competition and auction program began in Brazil in 1999 and is operated by the Coffee Excellence Alliance in Portland, Oregon, as well as domestic partners. The November 26th auction is for the award-winning coffee for CoE, the Brazilian half-tanning method. On average, 21 award-winning coffees sell for $12.75 a pound, breaking the previous average record for Brazil's Pulped Naturals or Naturals. The auction of the winners will be held on Thursday, December 7. With the exception of five winning entries, the prices of all the winning works are at least $8 per pound.

Top Coffee received 92.33 points from international judges during the strict hot pot process of the competition, in part because of "different flavor characteristics," according to an announcement from ACE.

As the third generation representing the family farm, Nunes, a 28-year-old recent agronomy graduate, developed the "raisin process" for the competition. In coffee parlance, "raisin" usually refers to when the fruit around the coffee on the branch has begun to turn purplish red and dry.

"at the ideal ripening point, we harvest the best cherries by hand, put them in a truck barrel and let the truck rest in the local forest for 36 hours to achieve anaerobic fermentation," Nunez said. "after that, we break the fermented raisins and dry them in a raised bed."

Susie Spindler, co-founder and current executive consultant of ACE, said: "it's exciting to see the young son of a mature coffee family accept the highest honor. This proves once again that the possibility of Brazilian coffee far exceeds the expectations of most companies. "

Bidders from many countries merged to buy award-winning works from Nunes's Fazenda Bom Jardim. These buyers include Maruyama Coffee, Campos Coffee, Sarutahiko Coffee, Times Club Coffee, proud Mary and Coffee Free.
