Colombia, currently the world's third-largest exporter of coffee beans, has been importing coffee beans from neighboring Brazil and Ecuador since 2009 to meet domestic demand.

Colombia's export coffee beans are most representative of Supremo (Kongmou 19 or 17 Coffee 18), followed by Excelso (Kongmou 15 and 14). All exported coffee beans are subject to the strict control of the semi-official Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (Federaci ó n Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia).
