In order to market Taichung city coffee and build an international coffee platform, the Economic Development Bureau of Taichung City Government recently held an international coffee forum at the Innovation and Education Center of Chaoyang University of Science and Technology, inviting David Roche, CEO of the world-class American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA) Forum, and Peter Giuliano, former CEO of counter-cultural coffee, to Taiwan to exchange views with domestic coffee manufacturers and lead the public to learn more about fine coffee.

Vice Mayor Xu Zhongxiong also attended the forum to deliver a speech. He said that all the friends who participated in the forum today should be called "coffee experts", and the most amateur at the scene should be himself. He doesn't know whether the coffee is good or not, because he can't add milk to a good cup of coffee. In the past, China was dominated by tea culture, but now it is about adding coffee elements. Good coffee also needs to know how to bake. What's more, we should educate consumers at the end and let them know what good coffee is. I hope everyone can become missionaries of coffee culture.

Vice Mayor Xu stressed that Taichung definitely has the conditions to grow coffee, such as Xinshe, Dongshi, Heping, Taiping, and Wufeng, which are all very suitable places for growing coffee, but the current planting area is very limited, and there will be great prospects for promotion and cultivation in the future. therefore, coffee is not only a kind of culture, but also an economy, a crop with high economic value.

At the meeting, Peter Giuliano shared the past and future of boutique coffee, including the evolution and development of boutique coffee in various producing areas, the progress and growth of boutique coffee in different ages, coffee manor to roaster, and fully described the context and development of boutique coffee.

David Roche also shared his practical experience. David opened a 500-acre coffee plantation in Hawaii and was responsible for managing the agricultural industrialization of Lipton Tea throughout Latin America. At the same time, he also shared the sun technology and the quality development of Robusta coffee beans in boutique coffee, which was an eye-opener for the participants.

Mr. Chen Jiajun, the Taiwan light of boutique coffee, introduced the practice of Cupping at the meeting. He was the first certified cup tester (Cupping Judge) and lecturer in Taiwan with a Q Grader (coffee quality appraiser) certificate, and his service provider International was SCAA's only SCAA authorized education partner in Taiwan.

The Municipal Bureau of Economic Development stressed that through this coffee master's visit to talk about the context, current situation, and trend of international boutique coffee, gives us the opportunity to offset our strengths and make Taichung's coffee industry in line with the rest of the world. In the future, Taichung City Coffee will be created by using professional boutique technology comparable to that of the world, combined with Taichung's unique creative culture.
