Panamanian Casa Café Story:

Panama Finca La Valentina

A boutique micro-estate that has been shortlisted dozens of times by B.O.P

Casa de la Casa covers an area of about 12.5 hectares. It is a miniature small estate in Panama, of which 8.5 hectares are planted with varieties ranging from common typica to red carduai. Red Catuai, Pakamara Pacamara has everything. After 2008, a small number of areas began to grow Geisha coffee, which now accounts for nearly half of the total number. The estate is about 1500-1675M above sea level. In addition to coffee cultivation, there are 3.5 hectares of primary forest and various fruit trees, including cypress, pine and eucalyptus trees in the mountains. It is a typical example of a self-sufficient estate. Casa de la Casa is best known for winning the title of Best of Panama in 2011, with a cup test score of 92.3 points, which not only defeated the most iconic and consecutive champion Emerald Manor at that time, but also broke the record of the year to 70.25 US dollars per pound. The excellent results of the following years have been countless. Mr. Manor Lord David Osorio was born in curacoa, an island in the south of the Caribbean Sea in 1865. He moved to Panama in 1915 and started his family's coffee business. In 2007, the second generation members of the family, Efraín Alberto Osorio Baxter and Efraín Alberto Osorio Baxter, took over the family's coffee estate. The estate name is commemorated by their mother Valentina Baxter de Osorio, which is closely linked to everyone in the whole family. It also represents the self-identity and intimacy of a coffee family.
