The goal of the alliance is to make coffee the first truly sustainable agricultural product in the world.

Seattle time, yesterday May 06, 2018-Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) today announced that it will establish a global coffee alliance with Nestl é to accelerate and expand the global presence of the Starbucks brand in consumer packaged products (CPG) and catering services. Through a shared commitment to the ethics and sustainability of coffee, the alliance will change, expand and upgrade coffee for household and travel use and related categories.

As part of the alliance, Nestl é will acquire marketing, sales, and distribution rights, Starbucks?,Seattle's Best Coffee?, Starbucks Reserve?, Teavana?, Starbucks VIA? And Torrefazione Italia? Packaged coffee and tea in all channels around the world.

Nestl é will pay Starbucks $7.15 billion in acquisition fees, while Starbucks, which focuses on long-term shareholder value creation, will retain a sizeable stake as a licensor and a supplier of baking, grinding and other products. In addition, the Starbucks brand combination will be reflected in Nestl é's capsule system.
