La Margarita Manor is located in Qazi (Cachi), the Orosi micro-producing area of Costa Rica's eight major coffee producing areas, near the central city of Cartago, east of San Jose, the capital. Margarita Manor has been in the coffee business for four generations. In 2000, a microprocessing plant called Zalmari was established, which has a great advantage in the terminal quality of raw beans. The manor is close to the Tapanti Wildlife Conservation area, at an altitude of 1100-1300 meters, and has the nickname Fog Mountain because the reserve is shrouded in fog at night. The main coffee varieties cultivated are Caturra and Bourbon, and the harvest time lasts from November to January of the following year.
