On July 27, 2018, a press conference on the 2018 China skills Competition-the first National Barista Vocational skills Competition, co-sponsored by the Vocational skills Evaluation and guidance Center of the all-China Federation of supply and Marketing Cooperation, the China Employment training and guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the Coffee Branch of the Chinese Business and Economic Association was held in Beijing. According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the 2018 China skills Competition-the first National barista Professional skills Competition belongs to the national category II competition, which is the first held by China's coffee industry so far. it is also the only national competition in China. (note: according to the guidelines for the Organization and implementation of National Vocational skills competitions, national events in a single industry are national Class II competitions, and all competitions except National Class I and Class II competitions shall not be named after the whole country or China. )
At present, China's coffee industry is in a critical period of accelerating development and rising. According to statistics, China's coffee industry continues to maintain a consumption growth rate of 25% every year, which is more than 10 times the world average. China's coffee market will gradually become one of the main markets of global coffee consumption, but it is inconsistent with the current situation of employees in the coffee industry. No matter the quantity, quality or skill level of employees can not support the rapid development of China's coffee industry, there is an obvious shortage of talents, especially skilled talents. The era calls for skilled talents, skilled talents to promote career development, to speed up the creation of a craftsman spirit, ingenuity-based skilled personnel team, to support the development of China's coffee industry is of great significance.

Du Hongguo, president of the Coffee Branch of the China Business Economics Association, said, "this competition focuses on the principles of fairness, impartiality and extensive participation in the competition, in addition to a brand-new operating mechanism in the competition system and fair arbitration. In terms of reducing the burden of players and extensive participation, the participation mechanism of this competition has been formed in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. At present, it has formed the basic layout of the eight major competition districts in Beijing, Xi'an, Hainan, Shandong, Yunnan, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Northeast China. "
The meeting stressed that since 2018, the State Council has issued documents many times to determine policies and measures for the implementation of a lifelong vocational skills training system, and at the same time give preferential treatment to individual income tax on cash rewards obtained from the transformation of job-related scientific and technological achievements, so that innovative achievements can better serve development and people's livelihood. In particular, the recently promulgated "opinions on the implementation of lifelong Vocational skills training system" is an important symbol of a new breakthrough in the implementation of a national vocational skills training system and the construction of a lifelong vocational skills training system in the new era. as an important starting point to promote the skills development of employees in the coffee industry, vocational skills competition is of far-reaching significance in the development of vocational education. This barista professional skills contest is the first national industry skills competition held by China's coffee industry, which will blow the trumpet of talent competition and professional personnel training and development in the coffee industry, and provide important guarantee and support for the development and growth of the coffee industry in China.
It is reported that at present, the competition has entered the operational stage, including the China Employment training Technical guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Vocational skills Appraisal and guidance Center of the all-China Federation of supply and Marketing Cooperation, the Coffee Branch of the China Business and Economic Association and the organizing committee of the competition. at the same time, there is a competition executive committee and a competition arbitration committee. The competition consists of four stages: coffee brewing competition, coffee cup test competition, coffee pull competition and coffee shop grading competition. After approval, the top three in the finals will be awarded the honorary title of "National Technical expert" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and certificates, medals and medals will be awarded, and technicians will be promoted by the all-China Federation of supply and Marketing Cooperation. those who already have professional qualifications as technicians may be promoted to senior technicians. The competition is expected to officially kick off in August 2018, enter the competition stage in September, and complete the final at the end of the year.
