McDonald's will hire 75000 employees to open an additional 300-2000 coffee stations this year
McDonald's, the world's largest fast-food chain, will accelerate its store expansion in China and plans to hire 75000 Chinese employees this year, Bloomberg reported on May 16.
McDonald's labor force in China will soar by 83% through the recruitment program, McDonald's said in an emailed statement on the 16th. McDonald's currently has more than 90,000 employees in China. As Chinese consumers' incomes and the pace of life accelerate, so does the demand for fast food in China, with fast-food chains such as McDonald's and Burger King speeding up the opening of new restaurants in China.
According to Euromonitor, China's fast-food chain industry will expand 14% this year compared with last year, with a market capacity of 115.1 billion yuan. McDonald's opened 250 restaurants in China in 2012 and plans to open an additional 300 to 2000 coffee stations on the mainland this year. In the latest plan, the new jobs are mainly restaurant employees, of which 2,000 are in coffee stations. McDonald's says the number of McCoffee will increase by 45% to 750 this year.
According to the latest data from Euromonitor's London headquarters, China's fast food industry earned 86.9 billion yuan in 2011, of which McDonald's accounted for 15.6% and grabbed 39% of Yum's market share. KFC, Pizza Hut and other well-known catering brands that often stand on the street with McDonald's are actually Yum's brands. At the same time, it can also be seen that international giants are speeding up the pace of competing for the big cake of China's fast food industry, and the competition will be more intense in the future, but this may not be a bad thing for consumers. We can more conveniently eat the fast food we like and want at home.
