Coffee trees have long been planted in Yunnan, China.

The first coffee recorded in history books was the planting of China's first coffee tree in Taiwan in 1884. In the tenth year of Guang Xu in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1884), a British tea merchant found that the climate of Taiwan was very similar to that of Central and South America, so it would be a good geography for growing coffee. As a result, the businessman introduced 100 Arabian coffee trees to Taiwan to grow, thus becoming the "ancestor" of Chinese coffee. The earliest coffee cultivation in mainland China began in Yunnan, where a French missionary brought the first coffee seedlings to Binchuan County in Yunnan Province at the beginning of the 20th century. Now in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Taiwan and Xiamen in Fujian, coffee trees introduced more than a hundred years ago are planted, which is the so-called "Chinese coffee" (Chinese coffee).

The sowing of coffee trees

Try to plant potted coffee trees at home

When raising coffee trees in pots, you can take the way of sowing.

Find the seeds of the coffee tree and treat the seeds. Generally, you can use a knife to cut a small cut on the skin of the seed to peel off the skin.

Seeds can be planted directly, but sowing after soaking is best. Soak the seeds in water, usually with cold water, so as to avoid the nutrient loss of the seeds. Note that after soaking in water, you can take it out and sow it.

Using vermiculite as the soil, put the seeds directly on the vermiculite and cover the soil.

So we can start to observe the growth of coffee trees.

Generally sowing in spring and autumn, about 30 days of emergence, summer, about 10 days of emergence, winter, then it will take a long time, need to wait patiently.

When the seedlings of the coffee tree grow into true leaves, they can be transplanted, choose a flowerpot of the right size, which can accommodate the plant and give it more room to grow, and the root system can be put into the flowerpot and can be spread out.

Pay attention to the transplanting soil, generally use garden soil, coffee trees can be raised very well. If you are worried about the nutrients and permeability of the garden soil, you can use a three-in-one configuration of soil, with peat soil, vermiculite and perlite to configure it.

After planting, put it in a cool place, and then put it in a sunny place after Cheng Hui.

Coffee seedlings after transplanting should be maintained in a cool place first. Only after it has completely survived can it be put into the sun for photosynthesis. Although coffee trees like shade, proper light will be conducive to plant growth. The temperature between 15 and 25 ℃ is the most suitable for the growth of coffee trees, which is conducive to the production of small, strong, hard and high-quality fruits.

A large amount of water is needed during the seedling cultivation period, and it will be resistant to drought after a year.

In the seedling stage, coffee trees consume a lot of water because of their rapid growth rate. During this period of time, we should replenish water in time. After the coffee tree has grown for a year, the water demand will be slowly reduced, and all you need to do is to keep the pot soil from being too dry.

Coffee trees need to change their pots every year.

Change the pot for the coffee tree every year, and remove the old root when changing the pot, which will make the plant grow better and faster. Changing to a larger basin can increase the activity space of the root system, make the coffee tree breathe more smoothly, and reduce the trouble of insect diseases. Coffee trees do not have a strong fertilizer absorption. Generally speaking, organic fertilizers such as waste peels are enough for plants to grow normally.

Wait for three years and bear fruit soon after flowering.

Although the coffee tree takes three years from sowing to blooming and fruiting, its flowers smell like jasmine and its flowering period is as long as half a year. When the dense white flowers crawl all over the branches, you will feel that these three years of hard work has not been in vain.

Wait for the red fruit to grow, try to taste the sweet and sour one first.
