Coffee was produced in Martinique in 1723 and was founded by French naval officer Gabriel de Clieu. It later spread to the Caribbean and other parts of South America, Martinique, the overseas region of France.
History
Jules Roscion wrote that in 1723, the royal physician Pierre Chirac gave French Navy Lieutenant Gabriel de Creeu, a coffee tree to be planted on the island of Martinique. Although King Louis XV refused to do so, de Clieu cut it from a coffee factory in the royal garden and planted it in Martinique. He gave the seeds to Martinique militia Colonel De la Guarigue-Survillier and other residents of the island who planted them. Clieu faces many challenges in transporting coffee factories, including pirate attacks and Atlantic storms. The glass case carried by the factory was broken; he shared his water consumption with the factory when he encountered a shortage of water resources during the voyage. After finally arriving at his destination, he planted the crop, which set up a coffee plantation in Martinique a few years later.
Coffee plantations spread in Martinique, planting about 18 million coffee trees until the November 7, 1727 earthquake. The harshness and persistence of the settlers made the island itself produce more coffee than it needed for consumption. All of France. Production
