What kind of coffee do you like? Bitter? Sweet? Sour? A little more milk? Or the purest black coffee with nothing added? Coffee Composer, designed by designers Xinyue Yang and Antonia Nandori, monetizes the various ingredients of coffee, allowing users to choose the combination of ingredients they want to help people use the coffee machine to make the coffee that best suits their own taste.

Instead of using the popular touch screen as the operation interface, Coffee Composer turns the various ingredients in the coffee, such as milk, sugar, coffee and even milk foam, into a series of tokens. When users make coffee, they can put the tokens into the Coffee Composer according to their own taste. The coffee machine can identify the NFC tags in the tokens, and then add the ingredients they represent to the coffee according to the composition of the tokens. For example, two sugar tokens represent polysaccharides, three milk tokens represent three portions of milk, and if the tokens are mixed together, it is half and half. if it ends with a foam token, then the coffee will have a layer of fragrant and strong milk foam on the top.

Because the tokens representing different ingredients are different in color, it is not easy to confuse the ingredients even if the novice brews coffee, and the process of stacking each token in sequence also has a good sense of ritual for gamblers to leave their hands and make all of them. It's just that in the process of this coffee gamble, there are no absolute winners or losers. At most, they have wronged their own tongues and put up with the taste of coffee they do not like. But it is also possible that in the process of arranging and combining various tokens, you will accidentally find a new taste that suits you.

The design team also kindly set up a card sensor area on the coffee machine, which can be used by users to pay by card. If it can be widely promoted in the future, I wonder if it will become the prototype of an unmanned coffee shop.
