Sediloya cooperative

The Sediloya Cooperative is a group of 814 farmers in Guera. They are part of the Keta Meduga Alliance, a brand new "Limu" alliance that was founded in 2016. The alliance unites 20 cooperatives in the Agaro region, one of the most promising coffee producing areas in Ethiopia. The most famous collaborators are Biftu Gudina, Duromina and Nano Chala. As part of our development philosophy, we decided to give a platform to cooperatives that are not well known, such as Sediloya.

The coffee is produced in a semi-forest agricultural system and is produced on 1 to 20 hectares of smallholder farms. Cherries are transported at the co-op's washing station, where coffee is pulped with a Penagos pulping machine. The mucus was removed mechanically after fermentation for 12 hours. Dry on an elevated drying bed for 6-7 days.
