Mundo Maya (H16 / EC16) is a F1 hybrid variety, derived from T5296, the rust resistance of East Timorese hybrid offspring, and a wild Ethiopian added "ET01". This variety has high yield in healthy soil and good quality at an altitude of more than 1300 meters. Mangdo Maya is suitable for agroforestry / shade planting system.
Evaluna (H18 / EC18) is a hybrid from F1 hybrids with Naryelis (Catimor-type species) and an Ethiopian Landrace pig added to "ET06". This is a variety with very high yield at high elevations.
Both hybrids were developed and marketed by CIRAD & ECOM in mid-2000.
