Qianjie-introduction to the story of Shuli, Rwanda
The story behind it
A coffee bean full of humanistic care is produced by a female-led cooperative, which was set up to provide support for local economic development. Arthur seldom tells her own story.
But the editor wants to tell you that he has a legendary experience.
After a decade of ethnic struggle in Rwanda, Arthur returned to his hometown in 1994 and worked with the government to introduce Rwandan coffee from a low-yield, low-quality, low-profit cycle to the boutique coffee industry as an adviser to the ministries of commerce and agriculture.
Arthur was the biggest behind the birth of the first Rwanda selected coffee, giving Africa the first Starbucks grower support center. Arthur's traceability system for raw coffee allows Starbucks to connect growers and customers in 25 countries.
Arthur Karuletwa is from Rwanda, south of the equator in Africa. What kind of country is Rwanda? When Arthur was born, he didn't even have a name. In his childhood, he saw a picture book called King Arthur. He was deeply inspired by the courage and legend of the ancient British king, so he named himself Arthur. In 1994, a civil war and genocide took place in Rwanda that shocked the world, killing about 1 million people, equivalent to 1/8 of the country's total population. In that year, Arthur was still a child.
He survived. But in that catastrophe, he lost most of his family.
High altitude and fertile volcanic soil provide good natural conditions for the growth of coffee beans. Years of tireless excellence not only make the local coffee beans famous for their flavor, but also provide more space for regional development.
This coffee bean from the equatorial region conquers countless taste buds that like fruit-flavored coffee star powder with its unique tropical fruit flavor. So, what's its flavor?
Bright grapefruit flavor and pineapple sweetness Starbucks has long focused on the fair welfare of growers. This is a coffee bean from the African Shuli Women's Coffee Cooperative, with orange peel and BlackBerry flavor and honey sweet taste. Hand-made black curry can maximize the multi-layered taste of this coffee bean, with star-like dots, and the tip of the tongue seems to be in full bloom.
Knowledge: Rwandan coffee is handled by independent farmers, the quality is unstable, and then mixed with coffee processed by neighboring farms.
