After Brazil began providing high-quality semi-washed Arabica coffee beans to the ICE Exchange last year, Brazil became the largest source of exchange coffee stocks in March 2021, surpassing Honduras, which has been the No. 1 source for many years.

Due to mechanized harvesting, Brazil has long supplied large quantities of low-cost Arabica coffee beans to the coffee market, and half-sun-treated coffee beans will not be part of the stock of the exchange until the end of 2019. The ICE Exchange revised the rules in 2013 to allow semi-washed coffee beans to enter the warehouse after certification in accordance with the exchange's contractual quality requirements for washed coffee beans.

Since Brazil began trying to provide semi-washed coffee beans to the exchange in August last year, Brazilian coffee beans have continued to increase in quantity and share of the exchange's inventory. According to coffee bean inventory data provided by the ICE exchange on January 22nd this year, the proportion of semi-washed coffee beans in ICE warehouses in Brazil has exceeded 35%, making it the second largest source of inventory after Honduras.

According to the latest coffee bean inventory data provided by ICE as of March 30, the inventory of coffee beans in Brazil is 871604 bags and that in Honduras is 772166 bags (60 kg / bag). Brazil has become the largest source of coffee bean inventory on the ICE Exchange, exceeding the Alabica coffee bean stock in Honduras by 11.4%.
