Last Updated: 2024/11/08, Today, oatmeal milk has gradually become a necessity in cafes, and OATLY, a brand of oatmeal drinks in tens of thousands of cafes, has also ushered in a good time. Earlier, OATLY said that it would build local production capacity in China. If there is no accident, the Singapore plant is expected to be completed this year. Today, oatmeal milk has gradually become a necessity in cafes, and OATLY, a brand of oatmeal drinks in tens of thousands of cafes, has also ushered in a good time.

OATLY had previously said it would build local capacity in China and, if nothing happens, the Singapore plant is expected to be completed this year, but OATLY did not disclose the exact timing of the Singapore plant and details of Chinese capacity at the time.

OATLY, the world's largest oatmeal brand, announced on March 31st that its factory in Singapore will soon be completed and will become OATLY's first Asian factory in Asia. According to snack Dai, OATLY expects Asian-made products to start production in the second half of this year, and the first batch of products will be first supplied to food and beverage channels. When the plant is fully operational, it is expected to produce more than 70 million litres of oatmeal-based drinks a year.

Data show that China has become one of the most important growth markets for OATLY in the world. Before the outbreak, 50 per cent of OATLY's revenue in China came from restaurants and coffee shops.

OATLY was founded in 1994 and OATLY officially entered China in 2017. In April 2018, OATLY entered 52 cafes and 220cafes in May 2018. In June 2018, OATLY opened more than 2000 boutique cafes in China in just one and a half years. In 2019, OATLY began to work with new tea brands like tea, during which it also launched oat milk Bobo and launched three types of plant ice cream in Tmall. By April 2020, OATLY announced that it would launch a variety of oatmeal drinks in Starbucks stores in mainland China. This is another customized experience of plant milk after Starbucks provided Chinese customers with hand-made drinks based on soy milk in 2007. in addition, domestic boutique coffee chains Manner Coffee, SeeSaw and other coffee brands also added oatmeal milk + coffee to their menus and launched oatmeal lattes and other products.

It is worth noting that on March 29th, Luckin Coffee Guanxuan launched several brand new oatmeal lattes and will launch stores across the country one after another. According to relevant sources, OATLY, the world's largest oatmeal brand, proposed cooperation with Lucky headquarters when it first entered the Chinese market.

Reviewing the development of OATLY in China, it is not surprising that OATLY has achieved today. So far, OATLY has entered the markets of mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

The formal implementation of this plan also represents that OATLY's expansion in China will also be supported by a stronger supply chain.

At present, oatmeal milk is entering the mass market one after another, which also means that oatmeal milk as a plant product is more recognized by consumers, while OATLY, which quickly grabs the oat milk market, will further meet the market demand after the landing of the first Asian factory.
