Taiwan Sun Moon Lake Black Tea No. 18 Hongyu Who does it well Sun Moon Lake Black Tea No. 18 stands for what it means
Formosa black tea is a very rare black tea from Taiwan. This unique tea produces a very special and unforgettable aroma. In Chinese, Formosa black tea is called green jade, sometimes also called gRuby Tea. Jade is one of the most popular gems in Taiwan and China. In particular, ruby is a very rare kind of jade. The reason for giving it such a name is that it has highly precious characteristics. Its aroma reminds us of brandy, especially cognac. Sometimes people think of the smell of cinnamon or mint and the smell of maltose. But it seems that most customers prefer it to taste like brandy. This kind of tea is suitable for dessert or for drinking in the evening or evening. The aroma is rich, giving people a sense of satisfaction and happiness.
Black tea was a major export crop during the Japanese rule of Taiwan. After World War II, Taiwan broke away from Japan, and the economy of the island country began to grow rapidly. This has led to a simultaneous rise in local labor costs, making Formosa black tea uncompetitive in the international market. Since then, black tea exports have declined.
Today, Formosa black tea is mainly produced in the tea gardens of Puri in Nantou County and Mizuho in Hualien County. In order to restore its former prosperity, the government has helped local tea farmers improve the quality of black tea and target the middle and high-end market. In 1977, in order to promote local black tea, the Nantou County government named the locally grown black tea Riyuetan black tea. With a strict quality inspection system, graded packaging and absolutely high quality, local tea fans in Taiwan and even overseas tea connoisseurs gradually begin to appreciate Riyuetan tea.
History and culture
The Institute was founded in 1903 in Caonan, Chapushi County. In 1905, Japan-Taiwan Tea Company established and acquired the tea land of Li County, Miao nationality in the tea garden. The production of black tea began here.
In 1926, the first batch of Assam tea was introduced into Taiwan, and Assam tea began to be produced.
In 1936, Mitsui set up a local company in Taiwan and began mass production of black tea. The company later became what is now gNitto Black Tea Company, which is the largest black tea company in Japan.
After World War II, in 1960, a village called Hegang Mizui Village began to produce black tea in Hualian County. It is based on the Assam breed. In 1973, one of the areas of the tea plantation called Mizui Village was exclusively produced for black tea. But the process has not been smooth because of the global recession. Recently, the production and market of black tea in Taiwan have been stable and some manufacturers have produced black tea in Hualian County and Taitung County.
Taiwan black tea is initiated by the Japan Tea Association. Later, thanks to the efforts of the Taiwan Tea Society, it has been further developed. In its long history, it has been continuously developed and improved in the variety and technology of tea. With the maturity of the technology, the Formosa black tea has become very unique and prominent. At present, the market demand even exceeds the production of black tea in Taiwan.
