For nearly 20 years, Geisah has been one of the most popular coffee varieties in the world. It rose rapidly in 2004 and has since achieved record-breaking prices at many well-known coffee auctions, especially in Panama.

The origin of rose summer, which originated in Ethiopia, did not attract much attention at first, because of its low yield, high plant and difficult to grow, but it was sent to research centers in many countries because of its resistance to leaf rust. It was introduced to Costa Rica in 1953 and Panama in 1970, and the great potential of rose varieties was discovered by local producers.

As a result, other coffee-producing countries are also attracted to grow and produce rose summer varieties, including neighboring Costa Rica of Panama, which are similar in climate and natural environment. What about the rose summer grown in Costa Rica? Is there any difference between it and the Panamanian summer?

Panama, with undulating terrain and vertical and horizontal valleys, belongs to a tropical maritime climate. Except for the plains in the north and south coastal areas, the rest are mostly mountains and volcanoes. Coffee is grown in the mountains at an altitude of 1200-2000 meters, which brings a unique microclimate to the region. At the same time, the large temperature difference at high elevations can make the coffee fruit grow slowly and develop its flavor. It provides natural conditions for Panama to grow high-quality coffee.

Coffee is mainly grown in the province of Chiriki, which is connected to Costa Rica in the west of the country, and is surrounded by Mount Chiriki (also known as Volc á n Baru), which is divided into three coffee-producing areas: Boquete, Volcan-Candela and Renacimiento. In these producing areas, there are many well-known coffee farms, such as Emerald Manor, Arida Manor, Hartman Manor and so on.

Qianjie Coffee has a rosy summer from Pokuit, Panama. After being washed and cooked, it will smell jasmine, lemon-like acidity, bergamot and honey flavor, green tea-like taste and refreshing taste.

Costa Rica is also rich in natural resources and ecological environment. Coffee is grown in an area of 80-2000 meters, mainly concentrated in the central mountains, mostly volcanic topography, volcanic ash provides fertile soil, mild and suitable temperature, and stable and abundant rainfall, which is an important factor in the production of excellent coffee in Costa Rica. Although there are similarities in the planting environment between Costa Rica and Panama, there are still some significant differences.

Recently, Qianjie Coffee has a new honey-treated rose summer from San Isidro Labrador Manor, which is located in Tarrazu, Costa Rica's most important coffee producing area. The whole manor is about 1950 meters above sea level, with distinct dry and rainy seasons, so there are many unique microclimates. The estate has always focused on the cultivation, production and quality of boutique coffee and has won many good rankings and awards in the country's COE competition.

This time, the rose summer of the manor is treated with the common honey from Costa Rica, with a hint of flowers after cooking, with cherry, orange and yellow peach flavors, as sweet as fruit juice, with a clean finish and a taste like oolong tea.

Although Costa Rica and Panama Rosa belong to the same variety, the flavor characteristics of Rosa produced by the two countries are different because of their different geographical location, planting environment and treatment methods. In addition, coffee beans belong to agricultural products, even in the same country, the same variety, different flavor characteristics produced in different regions.

Whether it is the rose summer of Panama or the rose summer of Costa Rica, its flavor has floral and citrus flavors. Because Costa Rica uses honey treatment, it will be a little sweeter, but it is not as complex and rich as Panama rose summer as a whole.
