Last Updated: 2026/04/07, The maximum amount of powder that a single V60 filter cup can hold is about 60g, but generally speaking, the amount of powder when we use it will be controlled at 15 to 20g, which is also the recommended amount for single filter cups. The maximum amount of powder that a single V60 filter cup can hold is about 60g, but generally speaking, the amount of powder when we use it will be controlled at 15 to 20g, which is also the recommended amount for single filter cups. The powder range is not recommended to exceed 25g at most. Why?

Because if you have tried it, you will know that once you exceed it, it will be difficult to make the same delicious coffee! The reason is that the amount of water injected will increase simultaneously with the amount of powder. Although a single filter cup can accommodate more coffee powder, it cannot accommodate the amount of water that increases simultaneously with the amount of powder. To be more precise, it should not accommodate the large amount of hot water injected in a short period of time!

For example, in the same three-stage stage, when brewing 15g of coffee powder, about two-thirds of the total water volume will be injected into the street before the water injection in the second stage. According to the ratio of 1:15, 150ml of hot water will be injected; If the amount of powder to be brewed is 30g, then according to the same ratio, we will inject 300ml of water in the second stage, adding the amount of powder, which far exceeds the capacity threshold of a single filter cup. If multiple segmentation is carried out, it is easy to cause the extraction time to be too long and the coffee to be excessively extracted! This is the main reason why a single filter cup is not suitable for brewing more than 25 grams of powder. As for why, it is naturally because the single-serving filter cup is specially designed to brew a single serving of coffee. If you want to brew coffee for multiple people, there are more suitable multi-serving filter cups, such as the V60. There is a 02 model to choose from.

However, this does not mean that we can't make a large amount of coffee with a single filter cup. It's just that it's a little difficult to make, not that it's impossible to make it. Many friends occasionally encounter situations where they need to use a single filter cup to brew a large amount of powder on weekdays, so today I want to share with Qianjie how to brew a large amount of powder coffee with a single filter cup!

So what should I do specifically? It's very simple. Just like what Qianjie has been sharing, we only need to adjust the parameters and methods of hedging the cooking time. As mentioned earlier, since a single filter cup cannot hold too much hot water at one time, when we brew large amounts of powder, we cannot use one-time infusion of a large amount of hot water such as one-knife flow and three-stage flow. Instead, more sections need to be divided to reduce the amount of hot water injected into each section, so that the capacity threshold of the filter cup will not be exceeded and the hot water will not be unable to hold.

The more paragraphs we divide, the longer the extraction time will be, and the extraction efficiency will increase accordingly. If we want to prevent over-extraction of coffee, we can reduce the overall extraction efficiency by roughening such as grinding and reducing the water temperature. At the same time, we can also increase the injected water flow, which can effectively speed up the water discharge and shorten the extraction time. When the two are combined, the brewed coffee will not be easy to overdraw, and you can still get a pot of delicious coffee. Here, the front street uses the newly opened front street Grana Rose Summer for example! When Qianjie uses a model 01 single V60 filter cup to brew 30g of powder, it will adjust the grinding degree of the coffee powder to a thicker gear. For example, the grinding degree used to brew Grana rose summer on the front street was originally 75% to 80% of that of the No. 20 sieve, and after adjusting it to a thicker gear, it was 70% to 75% of the screening rate of the No. 20 sieve.

This adjustment can not only reduce the water-contacting surface area of the coffee powder, but also speed up the drainage speed, greatly correcting the extraction efficiency! Other parameters are as follows: powder amount used: 30g powder water ratio: 1:15 Brewing water temperature: 92°C Use filter cup: V6001 Use large water flow throughout the process! First, we inject 50ml of hot water and steam it for 30 seconds to expel carbon dioxide from the coffee beans.

Then, we used a large water flow to inject the second section of hot water in a circle until it was full! The water injected into Qianjie here is 150ml, and the total water injected is 200ml.

When the water level in the filter cup drops to the point where the powder bed is completely exposed, we inject hot water using the same water injection method. Similarly, inject it until it is full, and then wait for the hot water to seep out before injecting it into the next section, repeating until the injection is completed. Target water volume.

This brewing time will be close to 3 minutes, but even so, the coffee will not be over-ripe. After concentration measurement, the extraction rate of coffee was 20.33%. The taste is relatively balanced and the sweetness is high. You can obviously drink the flavors of apricot, berry, citrus, and oolong tea, which is very good.

So the above is all the content shared on Qianjie this time. If you need to use a small filter cup to make a large amount of coffee, you can still refer to it. In addition, Qianjie has also shared the method of using a large filter cup to make small amounts of coffee. Interested friends can visit previous articles on Qianjie to learn about it ~
