Two cups of coffee a day are best for the heart.
Whether it is white-collar workers who need to be refreshed at all times, "petty bourgeoisie" who love to get together and chat, or students who stay up late to fight, the ranks that "actively" fall in love with or "passively" need coffee are growing. However, the argument that coffee is not good for cardiovascular health has been bothering everyone, and it is hard to avoid a little uneasy when drinking it.
Yesterday, Professor Fu Guosheng of run run Shaw Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University Medical College made it clear that coffee can be drunk, and drinking the right amount can even reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
We have different metabolism of caffeine because of our different genes. Among people with slow caffeine metabolism, people who drank two to three cups of coffee a day had a 36% higher risk of heart attack than those who drank one or less cups of coffee a day, compared with those who had the same genetic composition. If they drank more than four cups of coffee a day, their risk of heart attack increased by 64%.
On the other hand, people with faster caffeine metabolism, if they drank two to three cups of coffee a day, were 22 percent less likely to have a heart attack than those who had the same genetic makeup but drank only one or less cup of coffee a day.
Although few people know their caffeine metabolism genes, drinking two cups of coffee a day has no negative effect on the body. In the words of Professor Fu Guosheng, two drinks are just right.
When it comes to people who are really not suitable for drinking coffee, there are mainly these categories: people who are prone to getting angry and thirsty; pregnant women and osteoporosis; patients with gastric ulcers; patients with diabetes; and patients with cardiovascular diseases such as heat syndrome and moderate and severe hypertension.
