If the venue of the coffee shop is smaller than the area stipulated in the new law, they will have nearly a year to move to the new site. According to the current regulations, the construction of a coffee shop must be 1500 square feet, and a coffee shop smaller than that must be relocated to a larger area if you want to continue to sell shisha or allow smoking.

About 25 restaurants have been fined 5000 dirhams (869 euros) to 10000 dirhams (1738 euros) since the smoking ban in restaurants and cafes was imposed on November 18 last year.

At the same time, the Dubai municipality also announced the fourth phase of its plan to ban smoking in public places. The new regulations are aimed at "places of entertainment", including billiard halls and Internet cafes.
