Starbucks, a global coffee chain that has been in the Chinese market for 14 years, recently opened China's first coffee master shop in Beijing. It is also Starbucks '100th store in Beijing.
The reporter learned that the most prominent feature of the store is that all the coffee masters form store partners (i.e. staff). According to Starbucks officials, to become a coffee master at Starbucks, you must first undergo comprehensive training and rigorous examinations, while also shouldering the important practice of the last 10 feet of the coffee journey, namely how to make a perfect cup of espresso, how to taste coffee, share coffee culture, and stimulate emotional connection between people. After passing the first certification, it must continue to practice and regularly re-examine in order to continue the honorary title of "coffee master". "In this store, Starbucks coffee masters not only control the fully manual coffee machine with great precision, but also adopt a unique funnel-type hand-brewed coffee method and latte pulling skills, allowing customers to personalize and make their favorite coffee." The head of the company said.
