Starbucks plans to operate in a micro-batch model to launch single-origin coffee
According to a report on the Forbes magazine website on December 15, Starbucks, the world's largest coffee chain, recently announced the opening of its first high-end flagship coffee store called Starbucks boutique roasting and tasting room. and launched a single-origin coffee to further prove its coffee-making technology.
Like wine, Scotch Whisky, olive oil and cocoa beans, a single origin can raise the trademark of a variety to the next level. Ironically, however, the report points out that the rise of the process of mixing crop ingredients from various areas is intended to assure customers of product stability and quality control, which cannot be provided by single-origin supply.
Starbucks is not the first to step into this fashion trend. Due to non-traditional processing methods, single-origin coffee beans have been widely publicized by the media and once regarded as a laughingstock. But now, for consumers who are tired of mass brands represented by Starbucks, this approach can creatively solve their problems. In addition to physical stores, consumers can also order these rare varieties online in time.
The most expensive single-origin coffee in the world is black ivory coffee and civet coffee. Due to the extremely limited supply, it is only sold in a small number of five-star hotels in the world, and the price is not cheap. For consumers who don't like to be digested by animals, Esmeralda's Rose Summer Coffee is a highly acclaimed top single-origin coffee.
Like launching a pumpkin latte, Starbucks can lead the way, according to Forbes. With the opening of the Starbucks boutique baking tasting room, single-origin coffee beans are likely to become the next fashion trend.
