Vietnam Coffee Producers Association predicts that Vietnam's coffee production in the 2015-2016 season will be reduced by more than 20% compared to the plan. This is the third consecutive coffee production season loss, coffee farmers and coffee production enterprises will cause the greatest damage.

The report said that the reason for the decrease in coffee production in Vietnam was that the coffee producing areas were affected by severe drought at the beginning of the production season, such as the lack of irrigation for tens of thousands of hectares of coffee forests caused by drought in key coffee producing areas such as Dele, Lin Dong, Gia Lai and De Nong provinces. According to statistics, a total area of 204500 hectares of coffee forest in the above-mentioned provinces is maintained with water irrigation in general seasons, but after the dry season, the area of coffee trees dying due to water shortage reaches 47835 hectares, resulting in at least 15-20% reduction in coffee production.
