New information on foreign immigrants: you can emigrate to Sydney by opening a coffee shop or grocery store.
Can you emigrate to Sydney by opening a coffee shop or grocery store? The answer is yes. On December 11, the government of the state of New South Wales (capital Sydney) made a series of policy changes to the state nomination requirements for Australian business immigrant visas.
From January 1, 2016, the new state government will remove restrictions on industries. After New Year's Day, investors applying for Australian business immigration visa 188A and business genius immigration visa 132a can open small businesses such as cafes, supermarkets and grocery stores in cities under the jurisdiction of New South Wales, such as Sydney.
According to the current immigration policy, Australian business immigrant visa holders cannot engage in the following industries if they choose to set up business in Sydney with restricted industries: coffee and restaurants, food takeout services, supermarkets and grocery stores, fruit and vegetable retail, special food retail, newspaper and book retail, clothing retail, footwear retail, other personal accessories retail, household goods retail. Cotton textile retail, other electrical and electronic products retail and other small and medium-sized business categories.

Ms. Vicky Zhu, General Manager of Australian Citic Immigration Division, said that after the policy change, applicants for four categories of immigrant visas, namely, 188business innovation category, 132business genius visa, 888 innovation category permanent residence visa and 892 visa, will benefit.
"the introduction of this policy shows that NSW plans to fully liberalize 188A visa and 132 visa business investment projects! Starting from next year, investors who choose to emigrate to Sydney will have more investment options. " "Sydney has more business opportunities than other Australian cities and is easier to do business, making it ideal for fledgling business innovation immigrant customers," Vicky told reporters.
The deregulated small and medium-sized business categories are very money-absorbing industries. Due to the characteristics of low investment, quick results, easy management and simple immigration operation, they have been favored by Chinese immigrants since the era of 163 visas.
Take small supermarkets and grocery stores as an example. New immigrants can have their own business in Sydney with a minimum investment of A $200000 and a maximum investment of A $500000. As long as they maintain normal operation for two years and personally participate in day-to-day management, and the annual turnover of the business meets the requirements set by the Australian Immigration Service, the whole family can obtain permanent residency in Australia and realize their plan to emigrate to Sydney.
