Yunnan Aiyi Group, Starbucks' only partner in the Asia-Pacific region, announced in Kunming that it will invest 600 million yuan to build the first rainforest ecological coffee farm in China.

Since French missionaries brought coffee to Yunnan in 1892, after a hundred years of development, Yunnan has become the largest coffee planting and export base in China. According to statistics, in 2012, the planting area of coffee in the province was 1.34 million mu, with an output of 82000 tons.

In February 2012, Starbucks Aiyi Coffee (Yunnan) Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Starbucks and Yunnan Aiyi Group, officially opened in Pu'er, with an annual production capacity of about 20,000 tons of raw coffee beans. It is the largest exporter of coffee production and processing in China, driving more than 100,000 farmers to grow coffee to get rich.

Liu Minghui, chairman of Aiyi Group, said that the Aiyi Manor project is located in Manzhongtian, Bengnong Village, Yixiang Town, Simao District, Pu'er City, and will rely on the green resource advantages of Pu'er and on the basis of the established green circular economy chain. build Aigu Coffee Manor and Aili Animal Husbandry Manor. On the basis of the existing Manzhongtian Coffee Garden, Aichi Coffee Manor will build 5000 mu of rainforest coffee demonstration base, new coffee variety gene bank, roasted coffee, hanging ear coffee and other production workshops, and coffee culture museum. Aili Animal Husbandry Manor will build racecourse and skating pasture on the basis of Manzhongtian pasture, focusing on the manor division of sightseeing tourism.

Manzhongtian, where the project is located, has an average elevation of 1500 meters, an average temperature of 10-22 degrees, and a short average sunshine time, which is conducive to the growth of coffee. All the local coffee is organically certified. JeremyMakeford, an international coffee cup tasting master with 45 years of coffee tasting experience, praised that the coffee here is comparable to Blue Mountain Coffee and scored 81.5 for it.

Liu Minghui said that the manor is expected to be completed in December 2016. At that time, push open the manor door, enter another world, experience a brand-new way of life. There is no bike, riding or walking in the manor. In the golden autumn and October, the coffee of the ten thousand mu Manzhongtian rainforest coffee demonstration base is covered with red hills, and the manor is full of busy scenes of picking coffee, drying and closing the warehouse.
