Japanese studies show that drinking coffee daily reduces the risk of death. what are the benefits of drinking coffee daily? Drink
According to Kyodo News on May 7, a joint research team of the National Cancer Research Center of Japan and the University of Tokyo released on the 7th the results of a study showing that compared with people who basically do not drink coffee, people who drink 3 to 4 cups a day have a 40% lower risk of dying from cardio-cerebrovascular and respiratory diseases.
The study did not investigate the association with cancer death, and the risk of death from all diseases was reduced by 24%.
The study followed about 90,000 residents aged 40 to 69 living in 10 prefectures in the 1990s until the end of 2011 to investigate the link between their living habits and the leading causes of death in Japan.
The results showed that coffee consumption was inversely proportional to the risk of death, and those who answered "three to four cups a day" had a 36% lower risk of dying from heart diseases such as angina pectoris and myocardial infarction than those who "basically did not drink". The risk of death from cerebrovascular diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction is reduced by 43%, and the risk of death from respiratory diseases such as pneumonia is reduced by 40%.
The situation of drinking more than 5 drinks cannot be analyzed in detail because of too little data. The differences in drinking patterns such as sugar and milk were not taken into account in the study. The team believes that chlorogenic acid in coffee regulates blood sugar and blood pressure, while caffeine has the effect of keeping blood vessels healthy.
Men who drank more than five cups of green tea a day had a 24% lower risk of death from cerebrovascular disease and a 45% lower risk of death from respiratory diseases than those who did not drink at all. Women's risk of dying from heart disease is reduced by 37%.
