The World Barista Championship (WBC) is an international coffee competition organized annually by the World Coffee Council (WCE). The aim of the competition is to introduce high-quality coffee and promote the professionalism of baristas. The World Barista Championship (WBC) is an international coffee competition organized annually by the World Coffee Council (WCE). The aim of the competition is to introduce high-quality coffee and promote the professionalism of baristas. The annual competition draws audiences from around the world, culminating in local and regional competitions around the world.
Each year, champions representing more than 50 countries will make four espresso cups, four cappuccinos, and four specialty drinks to exacting standards over 15 minutes of (wonderful) music.
WCE judges from around the world will judge each piece on taste, cleanliness, creativity, skill and overall performance. Popular specialty drinks bring their unique tastes and experiences to the judges through the imagination and knowledge of baristas.
The 12 winners from the first round will advance to the semi-finals, the 6 winners from the semi-finals will advance to the finals, and the finalists will be the (annual) World Brista Championship winners! [1]
The World Barista Competition China Selection Competition is authorized by the World Barista Competition (WBC). It is currently the only coffee making competition in China with professional standards, systematic operation and international certification, enjoying the reputation of "Coffee Olympics." It aims to discover and guide coffee trends, spread coffee culture and provide a platform for professional baristas around the world to perform, compete and communicate.
The event was introduced to China in 2003 by Shanghai Bohua International Exhibition Co., Ltd., focusing on coffee production links and technologies, and has been committed to promoting Chinese coffee culture and cause. The event has been widely praised and supported by Chinese coffee industry enterprises, and has also become the cradle for the growth of a new generation of Chinese baristas. The World Barista Competition China Regional Selection Competition proudly entered its thirteenth year. The 2015 competition will set up 20+ competition areas nationwide to select contestants, covering major central cities in East China, North China, South China and Southwest China. The outstanding baristas selected will be held at HOTELEX Shanghai from March 30 to April 2, 2015.(Shanghai International Hotel Supplies Expo) on-site display skills, compete for the only place to represent China overseas to participate in the World Barista Competition (WBC).
