Minlin Zanren in Nantou City used far infrared and ultrasonic technology to bake coffee to shorten the roasting time of coffee, do not burst and carbonize, and let coffee beans retain natural acid. He won the silver medal at this year's 28th International Invention Exhibition in Pittsburgh, USA.

Lin Zanren, who lives on Zhangnan Road in Nantou City, originally worked for the Fuji Quanlu Company in Taiwan. later, he devoted himself to tea baking and loved research and innovation. he found that the temperature and humidity were often unstable in the tea baking process, so he used the experience he had learned and came into contact with, using ultrasonic humidifier, far infrared, and other equipment and technology, to jump away from the traditional baking method, and sure enough, tea baking showed a stable situation.

Later, he transferred this roasting technology to coffee bean roasting. after three years of experiment and improvement, it took about 14 days for coffee beans to go from traditional coffee fruit harvest, washing, sun drying to roasting, which was shortened to five days. coffee beans do not expand, do not burst, and retain natural acidity, coffee tastes natural aroma, sweetness and layering, even cooled coffee, but also has a light flavor.

Chen Tsung-tai, chief executive of the Taiwan Invention Association, pointed out that Lin Tsan-Jen's invention was of great benefit to agricultural products. during this competition in the United States, it attracted people from the international community to ask frequently that if Lin Zanshi could be fluent in a foreign language, I believe I can get back the gold medal.

Chen Zhiqing, the acting county magistrate, said that after the September 21 earthquake, the coffee industry sprouted in the country's surname township. Over the past decade, Shuili Township, Market Town, Yuchi Township and other places have also been promoted and cultivated one after another. This innovative technology of roasting coffee beans can not only improve farmers' income, but also take into account environmental protection and carbon reduction. Lin Zanren's R & D spirit is admirable.
