The reporter learned yesterday that 21 Asian elephants entered the Manzhong Tian Manor of Yunnan Aiyi Group, located in Simao area. Some bananas and corn grown by farmers were eaten by Asian elephants, and some coffee was destroyed by Asian elephants.

Manzhongtian Manor is located in Yixiang Town, Simao District, which is adjacent to Jiangcheng County and about 80 kilometers away from Pu'er City. According to the relevant staff of Aiyi Group, they have built a manor in Manzhong Tian, with 30, 000 mu of pasture and 6000 mu of coffee. "A few days ago, this group of Asian elephants were mainly active in the village of Naji, and on the evening of the 10th, it was reflected that more than 20 Asian elephants had entered our manor." Bai Yingfu, a staff member of Aiyi Group in Manzhongtian, told reporters that when he ran to see it on the morning of the 11th, the elephants were swimming in the Manlaojiang River. after counting, they found a total of 21 Asian elephants, large and small.

Pai Ying-fu says that after entering, Asian elephants mainly feed on bananas and corn, and bring down some coffee trees while walking. For fear of being attacked by Asian elephants, many farmers dare not work in the fields. "Asian elephants are seen here for the first time, but we are still worried about human safety; in addition, we do not know whether they will cause extensive coffee damage in the future." Bai Yingfu told reporters that Manzhongtian borders Jiangcheng and Mengla, and it is not known which county the elephants come from and whether they will stay. The relevant staff of the Aiyi Group said that the entry of Asian elephants into Manzhongtian shows that the ecology there is better, and they have asked staff and workers to be vigilant not to provoke Asian elephants.

Where did these Asian elephants come from? In October 2011, the elephant group entered the talcum village in Jiangcheng County from Mengla County, according to staff from the International Fund for Animal Welfare. "the distance between the talcum village in Jiangcheng County and Naji Village in Simao District is only about 3 kilometers. Recently, food in the skateboard village is relatively scarce, and last month, the elephant herd entered Naji village from the talcum village. " The staff said that through the early monitoring in Jiangcheng, this group of elephants is relatively docile, but it needs to be reminded that this elephant group has a wide range of activities, and sometimes it is very close to the village, so we still need to take more precautions.

According to reports, in Xiaobazi, Pineapple Village, Yixiang Town, seven Asian elephants have come since last year, but at present, this herd is not stable. At present, Asian elephants in Pu'er City are mainly distributed in Simao, Jiangcheng and Lancang. At the peak, there are more than 100 Asian elephants.
