Volcafe, an American food company, says China's coffee production will double within five years
According to a report by Reuters on November 11, an official of the US food company Volcafe said that China's annual coffee production will double in the next five years. If the market demand continues to increase and coffee can bring profits to growers, China's coffee production will continue to increase.
Singapore Sugar Man Trading Co., Ltd. released a new plan in October to set up a joint venture in Yunnan, China, to increase its coffee market share in Yunnan, which may become one of the world's major coffee producers, the report said.
China produces nearly 1.3 million bags (60 kg / bag) of coffee beans a year, close to Nicaragua's pre-production of coffee from 2014 to 2015, according to a senior Volcafe Asia executive. By 2020, China's coffee production will double, which is likely to be close to that of Mexico and Guatemala.
