Coffee cultivation in China is mainly concentrated in Yunnan and Hainan provinces. Due to its low terrain, Hainan Province mainly produces lowland coffee; high-quality and high-yield coffee is mainly concentrated in Yunnan Province, accounting for more than 98% of the country's planting and output, and has become the largest coffee producing area in China. And the quality of coffee produced in some producing areas is good, and the quality of small-grain coffee produced is excellent. According to the Yunnan Coffee Industry Association, in 2012, the province's coffee planting area reached 1.34 million mu, with an output of 82000 tons, an increase of 45.6% and 26.1% respectively over the same period last year.
