In its birthplace, Seattle, Starbucks opened a Starbucks boutique bakery, the world's largest flagship store, at the end of 2014, a store design similar to a factory store that peddles their coffee culture through the baking process.

This practice of providing customers with a close contact with the baking process is happening in more and more cafes. Starbucks has announced plans to open bakeries in New York and Shanghai. In Berlin, boutique coffee brand Bonanza has also opened a roaster-style store.

When Yumi Choi and Kiduk Peus, the founders of Bonanza, started Bonanza in Berlin in 2006, they knew next to nothing about coffee. Yumi originally studied art in Rotterdam and Kiduk was a designer.

But the two young men opened up the market for boutique coffee in Berlin. They focused on light roasting coffee. They always tried to study coffee as a science. Through repeated experiments, they tested the "baking degree" values of different varieties of coffee beans. On the basis of relatively light roasting, the beans' original flavor and final taste are balanced and unified.

The size of the Berlin cafe has expanded rapidly in recent years, and it seems that a well-regarded coffee craftsman can be found in a small corner, but Bonanza is still one of the best coffee in Berlin. Some even say it is the best coffee to try in Berlin and has the reputation of one of the 25 magical cafes that you must visit before you die.

It is said that Bonanza beans are being introduced into cafes not only in Germany but also in many European countries. due to the huge increase in business in the past few years, they finally decided to move out of their previously unair-conditioned storage space and open a new workshop-style store in Adalbertstra?e, Kroitzberg, Berlin, which is home to many popular German restaurants.

When they first founded Bonanza, their first bean dryer, the old Probat 3kg in 1918, was bought from the great-grandfather of the founder of Probat, and has now been replaced by Probat UG 22kg to cope with the fast-growing demand.

The transparent and bright character of this store is also more approachable than the old one. The operator space is designed by Modiste, an interior and furniture design company from the Netherlands.

The new baking bean shop can be seen through the transparent glass partition, the exterior is Italian and hand-washed bar, wooden tables and chairs are from Danish designers, refreshing and comfortable.

Of course, coffee beans are undoubtedly the protagonists in the store. Raw beans are purchased from their own places, including Colombia, Ethiopia, Honduras and Brazil.

If you have a chance to go to Berlin, you might as well try the hand punch here and buy a bag of coffee beans with both popularity and reputation.
